Putting high-end home-grown technology on the global map while creating jobs in our own region.

No tours or shows by Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Adèle or Muse without Luminex’s technology. And the company is also indispensable at Disneyland Paris, the Eurovision Song Contest and even the Olympics.

Technology company Luminex Network Intelligence became the 2019 laureate of the 18th edition of the Lion of Exports among companies under 50 employees. The Genk-based company surpassed two East Flanders companies: Ghent-based healthtech company Ontoforce and Lokeren-based hygienic wall protection manufacturer PolySto. Luminex’s victory did not surprise: the firm operates in 45 export markets served by a global dealer network and its own representative offices. In 2018, its 22 employees achieved an export turnover of 4,796,529 euros or 92% of the total turnover figure. In the coming years, the further expansion of existing export markets is on the agenda, as is the exploration of a number of new regions.

User-friendly

Founded in 2002, the Limburg-based company developed an innovative network solution to make controlling light, sound and video easier to manage. Luminex stands between the director and the stage, replacing a tangle of cables with a clear and flawless system. Without Luminex equipment, there would be no Eurovision Song Contest, no concerts by Coldplay or Ed Sheeran. From festivals like Tomorrowland over football stadiums to concert and theatre halls, the user-friendly Luminex system is relished in the professional entertainment industry worldwide.

Distinctive technology

Luminex Network Intelligence convinced the Lion of the Export jury with its impressive growth track record and determined focus on innovation within a very specific niche. From the start in 2002, the goal was clear: to develop flexible, user-friendly technology for professional lighting control at events. With the Paralympics in Athens, the enterprising Flemings convinced the world of their abilities. In the years that followed, the company’s reputation grew and its radius of action expanded. Putting high-grade home-grown technology on the global map while creating jobs in your own region, that does indeed deserve an export prize.
