Gebiedsontwikkeling - Nieuwpoort

The integral development of Nieuwpoort’s marina is an ambitious project that will strengthen the town’s role as a European marina. On the right bank, among other things, a marina dock for about 600 boats will be built, along with about 1,000 homes. It will be the largest marina in northern Europe. The existing businesses associated with the current marina will get a new location.

The marina will have a major role in the coastal tourist network. To this end, there will be a direct and visual relationship between the marina and the city centre. The project should also become an economic and liveable entity. The complete redevelopment of this area will take around 10 to 15 years and require an investment cost of around 100 million euros.

PMV’s role

PMV has been involved in the project since 2013 and initially acted as project supervisor and advisor to the agency Maritime Services and Coast. Today, PMV is also taking on a financial role, notably by contributing venture capital and providing subordinated financing for the realisation of the project. PMV also provides expertise, with a group of staff specialised in the various facets of an area development process.

Other partners

PMV is putting its weight behind the area development together with private partners CAAAP, Artes and Groep De Cloedt. As public partners, the city of Nieuwpoort, the province of West Flanders, the Flemish Government and the Maritime Services and Coast Agency (MDK) are involved.
