beMatrix makes original and modular frame systems in aluminium for events and fairs. Based on its 2019 results, the company was awarded Ambassador Trends Gazelles 2021 in the large company category for West Flanders. It is a nice recognition as a provisional conclusion to a strong track record the company has been on in recent years.
Since its founding in 1987, an impressive array of innovations has steadily propelled sales forward. According to Stefaan Decroos, the CEO of beMatrix, the constant drive for innovation has been key to beMatrix’s success: “Right from the start, we have been committed to innovation that benefits both the company and the customer. Sustainable system
beMatrix aims to make life as easy as possible for stand and event builders by combining customisation with the advantages of a modular and reusable system that is also sustainable. Through an international sales network, the company offers local service and support. Internationalisation has been one of the big drivers of its growing success in recent years. For example, Freeman, one of the largest event organisers and exhibition builders in America, has been a major customer of beMatrix since 2017.
Abrupt stop
In early 2020, corona ended the growth trajectory of previous years. Stefaan Decroos: “As a company, we took swift action, not only by scrutinising our costs, but also by responding flexibly to the new market conditions and adding new products to our range to respond to the new needs created by the COVID crisis.” Despite this flexible mindset, beMatrix needed additional liquidity to get through the pandemic. Thanks to an intervention by Gigarant, which is part of PMV financing solutions with guarantees above one and a half million, beMatrix was able to secure that additional funding from the bank.
